After a road accident or a fall, things may seem fine at first, but complications can appear later.
Why caution matters
Bleeding inside the brain can develop slowly after an injury, and symptoms may appear hours or even days later.
Danger signs
Loss of consciousness, repeated vomiting, worsening headache, unusual drowsiness, seizures, slurred speech or weakness in arms or legs — take the person to hospital immediately if any occur.
What to do
Keep the person under observation for at least the first 24 hours. A CT scan may be needed. Do not give painkillers or sleeping pills on your own.
