Frequently asked questions

Common questions from patients about appointments, spine problems, surgery and recovery.

1

How do I book an appointment?

Use the booking form on this website, or call / WhatsApp 01795-404281 directly.

2

What should I bring to the chamber?

Bring all previous reports (MRI, CT, X-ray), earlier prescriptions and discharge papers, and a list of your current medicines.

3

Does all back pain need surgery?

No. Most back pain improves with medication, physiotherapy and lifestyle changes. Surgery is considered when leg weakness worsens, bladder or bowel control is affected, or there is no improvement after adequate treatment.

4

What is PLID?

PLID (disc prolapse) happens when a disc between two vertebrae bulges and presses on a nerve. It can cause pain, tingling or numbness spreading from the back to the leg.

5

When should I see a doctor urgently?

Seek prompt care for sudden leg weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, severe pain after an injury, or back pain with fever.

6

Is spine surgery risky?

Every operation carries some risk. Before surgery, the patient’s condition, expected benefits and possible risks are discussed in detail with the patient and family.

7

How long is the hospital stay after surgery?

It depends on the type of operation and your condition. You will be given an estimate for your case during the consultation.

8

When can I return to normal activities?

It varies with the procedure. Light activity often resumes within a few weeks; heavy work and lifting only after your doctor approves.

9

Will I need physiotherapy after surgery?

In many cases, specific exercises and physiotherapy help recovery. When and how to start is explained at follow-up.

10

How much does treatment cost?

Cost depends on the condition, tests and treatment required. An estimate is provided after the consultation.
